Bata Shatak is Bata’s latest and most modern shoe factory. It was established in Hosur, India in 1994, Bata’s 100th year, hence the name Shatak, a Sanskrit word meaning 100.

The Bata factory in Mexico first started producing shoes in 1943. The facility was established in San Simon Colony of Mexico City for DIP and injected plastic shoes in 1958. The weekly production was around 20,000 pairs.
