The Canada 150 x Power collection looks to showcase how Canadian culture and lifestyle influence Power’s footwear designers. It allows you to get a snapshot of the daily life of a footwear designer and how their environment, personal history, and the modern day inspire their creative process.
In this creative project, each designer was given the task to “define Canada” from their personal perspective and translate their impressions and reflections into a shoe. Equipped with their imagination, a pencil, and a computer, the designers had free reign to explore materials, graphics and details to best realize their vision.
For those who can’t visit the exhibition in the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, you are highly recommended to follow Power on Facebook and Instagram to discover the creations of its designers, their work process and what inspires them.
“The designers were given total freedom in their self-expression. The result from one simple set of instructions is a beautiful array of interpretation truly showcasing the diversity so celebrated in Canada,” said Alexandra McDonald, Power design manager.
